The Tyne is close to three ports – the Ports of Tyne, Blyth and Sunderland – and is supported by excellent road, rail and Metro connectivity. It’s around 140km from the world’s largest offshore wind farm at Dogger Bank, and the Port of Tyne, which is implementing its vision to be the UK’s first smart port, is the closest deep sea port to both the Dogger Bank and Sofia wind farms. And Newcastle International Airport links the Tyne to yet more international markets.
