Today (24th June 2019) at their Glasgow Headquarters, Managing Director Colin West announced Eyecademy’s official expansion of operations into Newcastle, North East England. Strengthening the company’s provision of Data, Analytics and Consultancy, this new expansion will enable Eyecademy to continue to deliver insights to enterprises across the UK.
Expansion into the North East
Delivering Data & Analytics solutions since 2008, the Glasgow-based firm are excited to begin their expansion, acquiring new offices at the Core, in the heart of Newcastle City Centre.
A hub for technological collaboration, the Core aims to aid companies addressing ‘Future City Challenges’, allowing Eyecademy to join an elite residency of innovators, alongside the National Innovation Centre for Data.
Leading this expansion is newly-appointed Regional Development Manager Michael McMeekin, who joins Eyecademy with over 30 years in the IT industry.
The Data Revolution
With the UK Data & Analytics industry predicted to grow over 170% over the next 5 years, Eyecademy’s expansion comes at an opportune time for the company to create new employment and business opportunities in the North East.
Experiencing this Data boom over the last 10 years, Eyecademy has helped dozens of enterprise clients across 19 industries improve their analytical insights. More effective use of growing volumes of data is reducing time to make informed, evidence-based decisions, resulting in more effective use of resources, significant cost reductions and improved ROI.
For Government and the Public Sector, Eyecademy has also seen effective use of data drive policy changes and more effective use of budgets, benefiting both citizens and the economy.
In particular, Eyecademy has seen their solutions benefit four specific markets in 2018 and 2019, both at regional and national level – Transportation, Public Sector, Food & Drink, and Financial Services. All of these markets are embracing a culture of analytics and benefiting immensely from the insights and advantage Eyecademy is producing for them.
A New Chapter
Commenting on the exciting new chapter, Managing Director Colin West said,
“2019 has started very strongly for us, and this injection of growth and expansion into England through our Newcastle Office brings exciting times for us all at Eyecademy. Colin West continued,

Having lived and worked his entire life in Newcastle, Michael brings that classic blend of industry experience and pure passion to the role. He fully understands the challenges faced in the North East of England, and we are excited that he is on Board.”
