The Tyne currently accommodates a well-established cluster supplying around 3,500 jobs in the Energy, Offshore and Marine sector. The Port of Tyne and Shepherd Offshore offer quayside development land and deep water berths located alongside global names such as Baker Hughes, Technip FMC and Smulders Projects with Equinor recently investing to establish their Operations and Maintenance base for Dogger Bank. This is supported by Tyne Powered; a collaborative that brings together key stakeholders, Local Authorities and businesses on the Tyne to proactively work together to drive a shared vision. The ambition is to unlock opportunities for at least 4,000 more jobs within the next 10 years and represents significant growth potential linked to private sector investment and job creation in the renewables and offshore sectors.
