Newcastle is a natural home for Connected Energy. The North East has long led the way in electric vehicle development and it was whilst being involved in a number of early EV trials over a decade ago, that the idea of Connected Energy was born.
Our HQ location, at the Newcastle Helix site – a tech and science quarter in the city – has provided us with access to other innovative and creative businesses who are similarly working on future city solutions. The site’s location also provides us with direct access to two Universities and the learnings and talent that they provide.
Connected Energy
Connected Energy are world-leaders in the design and development of battery energy storage systems.
They are one of only a handful of companies in the world to have proven the technology to take second-life electric car batteries and repurpose them as an energy store.
Their innovative E-STOR system gives businesses more flexibility over their power. Businesses can store electricity in their system – either from renewables such as PV and wind or their own energy supply – and use it when its needed most. Either to reduce cost, save carbon or to solve energy constraints on site. The company’s product supports EV charging installation by helping to overcome power capacity issues and manage peak charging spikes.
From their HQ in Newcastle upon Tyne, the company’s systems are powering businesses across the UK and Europe.
