Driving the Electric Revolution Industrialisation Centres – North East is delighted to be working with Invest North East to showcase the opportunities in electrification in the region. It is a pivotal time with the government net zero ambitions and there is significant growth in the North East. Like Invest North East, our regional centre is focused on working together to accelerate the development of decarbonisation and the Power Electronics, Machines and Drives supply chain and both support and celebrate the fantastic businesses within the area.
DER-IC – Driving the Electric Revolution Industrialisation Centres
The Driving the Electric Revolution Industrialisation Centres (DER-IC) accelerates power electronics, machines and drives (PEMD) supply chain capability and growth. It is a UK wide project providing PEMD solutions for the global market.
DER-IC forms a network of PEMD expertise across 4 regions in the UK, connecting industry with the UK’s strong capability to develop and scale up PEMD technologies and manufacturing processes.
The centres were funded by UK Research and Innovation in 2020 as part of the Driving the Electric Revolution Challenge.
We are proud to host the North East regional centre, here in Sunderland, providing businesses with access to their network of £300m open access equipment as well as an additional £28.5m state-of-the-art equipment, that specifically fulfils a gap in the current supply chain market.
Driving the Electric Revolution Industrialisation Centre – North East, is a part of the national network of Driving the Electric Revolution Industrialisation Centres. The centre specialises in prototype and scale up of machines and drives, integration and quality assurance & testing.
The centre focuses on full manufacturing/assembly line for electric machines and power electronics.
The electric machine assembly line will support UK electric machine manufacturers and the wider supply chains to deliver prototype and pre-production prove out solutions to the market.
Power Electronics assembly line is designed to assist companies in developing, prototyping, and scaling up advanced power electronic hardware for PEMD applications.
See what we can do for you, to help your growth plans for the electric revolution. If you’d like help to develop or improve your PEMD manufacturing process capability, capacity, and competitiveness, please contact us.
