Neptune National Centre for Subsea and Offshore Engineering
The Neptune National Centre for Subsea and Offshore Engineering is a new £7m facility and the first of its kind in the UK. The national centre will bringing together industry and academia to create a world-class engineering research facility.
It will develop highly skilled graduates through project work and address the UK-wide skills shortage in the key disciplines underpinning offshore and subsea technology.
The Neptune National Centre for Subsea and Offshore Engineering will provide crucial infrastructure for emerging research opportunities in high pressure materials, extreme environment electronics, underwater communications and pipeline engineering. It incorporates a manufacturing cluster of established companies such as GE Oil and Gas and Bridon-Bekeart.
