Nomad Digital has been based in North East England since its inception in 2002. It employs circa 80 people in its Newcastle office and works with customers both nationally and internationally. Nomad Digital has a long-term strategic partnership with Hitachi and has worked closely with the company at its Newton Aycliffe plant on the launch of the new InterCity Express Programme service.
Nomad Digital has 80+ global customers in more than 40 countries. Its award-winning work includes patent-protected Passenger WiFi, Passenger Information Systems, featuring live journey updates and multimedia information, and Passenger Portal Framework to improve onboard services and entertainment.
In 2017, Nomad Digital became a wholly-owned subsidiary of French company Alstom. As a world leader in integrated railway systems and a promoter of sustainable mobility, Alstom develops and markets systems, equipment and services for the railway sector. Entirely refocused on rail transport, Alstom manages the widest range of solutions in the market – from high-speed trains to metros and tramways – customised services such as maintenance and modernisation – and infrastructure and signalling solutions.
