The move into Sunderland has really helped the company to advance its growth plans and I am delighted to now count the 300-strong Customer Hub team as part of Ocado Retail. Despite only opening our Sunderland base in late 2019, with less than 6 months of operations before Covid-19 hit the UK, the team have shown incredible commitment. The skilled workforce was just one of the reasons we were attracted to the area and Sunderland has delivered for us.

In 2019, Ocado Retail signed a 15-year deal to let the top two floors of THE BEAM, a flagship 59,427sq ft building at the heart of Sunderland’s city centre. The move has seen brand new jobs created in the city. In 2021, Ocado Retail now employ over 300 staff in a range of customer service roles
The Sunderland centre is an additional hub for the company, which has a similar set-up in Hatfield, and will support Ocado Retail to continue to grow.
