We set up Silent Games in the North East because it’s already a hub for game development – there is an excellent game dev community, and we always felt really supported by many of the local organisations that are designed to help businesses thrive here. Joseph and I have spent over 10 years here and have built many partnerships – for example, we’ve got great connections to Teesside University and Gateshead College which means we’re always going to get fresh talent through the doors. As well, PROTO is on our doorstep which has state-of-the-art motion capture, 3D scanning and audio recording facilities which is very handy for high quality game development. Lastly – the North East is just a wonderful place in general – the people are friendly, the cost of living is affordable, the city has great food and entertainment – just a great place to live on a personal level too! We’re extremely excited about expanding Silent Games and creating new jobs in the region, and can’t overstate how amazing the support has been. A huge thank you to everyone that has supported and encouraged us over the years.
Silent Games
Silent Games is a Video Game Studio in Newcastle Upon Tyne which is dedicated to creating the best cooperative multiplayer games that give players a sense of autonomy, mastery and purpose. Founded in 2018 by Sally Blake and Joseph Rogers, two former Ubisoft developers who spent many years as part of successful teams delivering major AAA Titles.
The studio’s goal is to build a “Double A” Studio with a specific focus: role playing games (RPGs) that create meaningful connections between players. With a new IP in development, the team is planning multiple games in this universe that will feature asynchronous cooperative multiplayer to bring players together in new and innovative ways
