NETPark is one of the UK’s premier science, engineering and technology parks. Since opening in 2004 NETPark has grown and is now home to over 40 companies and with 600 people employed on-site occupying over 127,000 sq ft of laboratory, office and cleanroom space.

The success of NETPark is such that expansion space is needed so that companies can reach their full potential. Durham County Council is investing £50m in NETPark Phase Three, creating of 270,000 sq ft of additional space with design and build opportunities from 5,000 – 80,000 sq ft. Speculative units of varying sizes will also be available to allow high growth science, engineering and technology companies to grow, scale up and commercialise their operations. This initial phase of development is part of larger expansion plans to the park, which includes a Masterplan for up to 433,800 sq ft across the 26-acre site.

Companies located at NETPark have access to a focused and international community where talent flourishes, ideas are generated and businesses have the infrastructure, support and resources to compete with the best in the world.

NETPark is the only UK Science Park with two National Catapult Centres – The High-Value Manufacturing Catapult, managed by CPI and North East Centre of Excellence for Satellite Applications.

NETPark is managed by Business Durham, who alongside strategic partners CPI and Durham University give tenants access to the infrastructure, support, facilities and academic expertise they need to take their ideas from concept to commercialisation including:

• CPI’s three national innovation centres Printable Electronics, Healthcare Photonics and Formulations.
• Two Catapult Centres: North East Centre of Excellence for Satellite Applications and The High-Value Manufacturing Catapult managed by CPI.
• Durham University’s Orbit Centre providing easy access to academic excellence, research and facilities
