THE unrivalled opportunities for property investors and developers in the North East of England are to be showcased at a major international exhibition and conference.
Invest North East England, (INEE), will highlight the many advantages of doing business in the region at the UK’s largest exhibition for property professionals
Representatives from the North East Combined Authority’s seven local authorities, Invest North East England and the region’s property and business sectors will attend MIPIM UK
The exhibition, on October 18 and 19 at London’s Olympia, provides opportunities for the region to make connections with major overseas and UK investors and developers, and illustrate the wide range of North East development opportunities
Invest North East England will be joined at the event by The Hanro Group, Ryder Architecture, Siglion, Highbridge Properties Ltd, Millburngate Durham (Carillion Arlington and Richardsons Development Partnership), Ask/Patrizia and Newcastle International Airport.
Sites being highlighted to potential investors on the Invest North East England stand are a mix of public and private sector developments and include:
Vaux Site, Sunderland
International Advanced Manufacturing Park, Sunderland/South Tyneside
Jade Business Park, County Durham
Gateshead Quays, Gateshead
Energy Central, Northumberland
Swans Offshore Energy Park, North Tyneside

During the event, INEE will be hosting a seminar (on Thursday 19th October) which looks at how a public/private partnership is bringing forward the International Advanced Manufacturing Park just north of the Nissan factory.
Following the success of last year’s event, INEE will also be inviting delegates to a drinks reception on the stand to try some locally produced drinks provided by Durham Distillery, Maxim Brewery and Clearly Drinks.
Guy Currey from Invest North East England, which has organised and is leading the delegation, said: “The North East is a fantastic place for investors and developers to do business.
“MIPIM is one of the most important events in the property industry’s calendar so we will be taking this opportunity to showcase everything we have to offer.”
Councillor Iain Malcolm, Leader of South Tyneside Council and Thematic Lead for Economic Development and Regeneration of NECA said: “MIPIM UK offers the perfect opportunity for our team to showcase the very best property and development-ready land available across the North East region to potential investors. We have a very impressive group of partners joining us at the event who will be on hand to share their experiences of successfully investing in North East England – ambassadorial testimonials such as this are a major factor when attracting new investment.”
Adam Serfontein, managing director of The Hanro Group, said: “The Hanro Group is very happy to be supporting the Invest North East England initiative at MIPIM UK for the third year running.
“Guy Currey and his team, with the support of the North East Combined Authority, are to be applauded for their commitment to present the region as a whole at this national event.
The team works hard to present the benefits of setting up, relocating or growing business throughout the North East to good effect. As a regional property investment and development group, we are committed to the objectives and the aspirations of INEE, and are proud to be part of it.
The opportunity to showcase our region and the tremendous possibilities available is very valuable”
