Regional strategy consulting firm Whitecap Consulting has announced it is to open two new satellite offices in Bristol and Newcastle as it enters the latest phase of its regional growth.
Established in 2012, Whitecap helps clients analyse, develop and implement growth strategies, supporting clients typically located outside London. Headquartered in Leeds, the firm expanded its regional presence by opening offices in Manchester and Milton Keynes in April 2017 to serve the North West and Midlands respectively.
Today, Whitecap works with mid-sized organisations and divisions of corporate businesses across multiple sectors including: Financial Services, Technology, Retail, Higher Education, Property, Healthcare and Inward Investment. Clients typically have growth ambitions including customer acquisition, new proposition development, new channel and market expansion, as well as digital and data-driven transformation.
Whitecap’s Bristol office will be at the newly opened Runway East building in the city centre, and the Newcastle office will be located within Generator Studios, the city centre head office of its client and partner hedgehog lab.
Richard Coates, Managing Director of Whitecap Consulting, says:
“Our vision is to a build a regional strategy consultancy across the UK servicing mid-sized organisations. As a result, we are delighted to announce two new satellite offices in Bristol and Newcastle to add to our three existing offices. Our services are not location-specific, as we have national and international clients, however, we are acutely aware that to support clients and develop new business it is important to be present and active in their location. This is an approach that has proved successful and we look forward to further expansion in the future as we continue to grow.”
Stuart Harrison, Associate, South West & Wales, at Whitecap Consulting says:
“Bristol is a vibrant city with thriving Technology, Financial Services, FinTech and Higher Education sectors. Not only is it a great fit with Whitecap’s experience but the city also lacks the presence of a strategy consulting firm like Whitecap. I’m delighted to be working with Whitecap to build its presence in Bristol and the South West.”
Sarat Pediredla, Chief Executive of hedgehog lab, commented:
“It is a pleasure to welcome Richard and the Whitecap team to Newcastle, a city where I’m sure they will prosper as there is so much growth potential here. As a long-standing client who now enjoys a strategic partnership with the firm, we are well aware of the strengths and benefits that Whitecap can bring to its clients and the locations it operates in.”
Guy Currey, Inward Investment Director, Invest North East England commented:
“It is excellent news that Whitecap Consulting have chosen Newcastle for their new office. Their customer base reflects many of the key sector strengths we have in the North East so an expansion here is understandable and very welcome. Alongside our partners, we look forward to working with the team to help them establish their presence in the region.“
Whitecap’s client assignments are typically focused on several common factors, for example: formalising the strategy planning process to help prioritise activity and investments; supporting established and high growth firms with developing and implementing growth initiatives; helping businesses respond to disruption to markets and business models often driven by changing consumer expectations and behaviours, digital and data-driven technologies, increasing regulation and new forms of competition.
Also, recently, we have found several developments in the UK economy to be favourable for our business model, including regional devolution, the Northern Powerhouse and several regional authority growth-focused initiatives to develop skills and support local and inward investment.
Whitecap’s clients have included: Bibby Financial Services, The Cooperative Group, Costcutter, OCS, Department of International Trade, Furness Building Society, London South Bank University, Manchester Metropolitan University, Ryman, The Mortgage Lender, Unisys, and Vocalink.
Whitecap is also the co-founder of FinTech North, the events-based initiative that operates across the North of England.
