Bionow

Bionow is a business membership organisation supporting the Life Sciences and Biomedical sector across the North East and wider northern England. As a not for profit organisation, resources are reinvested into new ways of supporting business growth, competitiveness and innovation amongst the North’s biomedical and life science community. This support is provided in many ways, we run accelerator programmes, all members have access to a comprehensive procurement scheme that can save them thousands of pounds per year on lab consumables, and other specialist services and products.

Additionally, Bionow members can connect with other companies and our university members, we also hold conferences and networking events that bring the sector together in the North East, Yorkshire and North West as well as online. Annual Conferences include; BioFocus (in Newcastle), Pharma Manufacturing, Oncology, BioInfect (AMR), Precision Medicine and BioCap, the only Life Science Investment Conference to be held in the North of England.

Bionow’s core membership are Pharma and Biotech companies, and by connecting Innovative Life Science companies with each other and providing ways to boost the competitiveness of member companies, Bionow seeks to create and sustain an ecosystem whereby the North East’s Life Science companies can thrive and grow.

Services for Inward Investors

Investment is key in every sector, especially in life sciences, and Bionow recognises this by hosting a range of events to support business growth and connecting companies with investors.

The annual Bionow BioCap Conference provides a unique meeting place connecting life sciences businesses, researchers and investors. Organisations can navigate the life sciences funding landscape and identify the life science investment opportunities that will advance and support the success of their business. Applications are invited from companies seeking or shortly starting to seek funding, and successful applicants are given the opportunity to present their company overview, request and need for funding to a panel of investors in an 8 minute “pitch”.

Other bespoke investment focused events are hosted by Bionow throughout the year, and several venture capital companies are Bionow members.

Bionow supports and promotes the life science sector across Northern England, highlighting the capabilities and companies of each region including the Northeast. Furthermore, there are a number of professional service member organisations who specialise in the life sciences sector, ensuring that all stages and ambitions of growth as a business can be sourced and supported on a local and regional level.
