Come and join Invest North East England plus private and public sector guests on a hosted boat trip along the River Tyne to showcase the world class facilities, businesses and opportunities located in the area.
This event will provide an overview of the key points of interest along the River as the boat travels from Newcastle’s Quayside to the Royal Quays Marina, before heading back upstream to Newcastle.
The trip will provide an insight into:
- The world-class cluster of oil & gas and subsea technology companies on the River
- Key R&D, testing and training facilities
- Significant development opportunities for the oil & gas and offshore wind sectors such as key infrastructure and sites including Neptune Energy Park, Swans and Whitehill Point
- The operational capabilities of the Port of Tyne and key companies such as Shepherd Offshore
Guests will be able to view the exceptional opportunities available on the Tyne from the best possible vantage point – the River itself. It will also provide a great opportunity to meet and network with key business contacts as well as representatives from local and national government.

Following the boat trip, guests can disembark and make the short walk across the Tyne to the Sage, Gateshead for the NOF drinks reception and the start of the Energy: A Balanced Future conference.

NOF Energy: A Balanced Future 2017:
This boat trip is being held alongside the NOF Energy for Energy: A Balanced Future 2017 conference at the Sage, Gateshead (7th – 8th March 2017).
The conference now in its seventh year, will highlight the importance of securing a balanced energy mix in the UK to meet future demand covering key topics such as offshore renewables, oil & gas, UK Power and Utilities update and Nuclear energy.
